Can I change the name of the ship skins for wipeout?

On the PSP game Wipeout pulse, you can download custom skins for your ships by going to the official game website, I've downloaded about 4 of them and as I was going to download more it gave a little message saying the file name already exists and was asking if it should overwrite it, is there a way I can change the name of any already downloaded skins without messing anything up in the game and still be able to use them?
